A Slice of Paradise: Exploring the Charms of Camp Margaritaville RV Resort in Auburndale, Florida

Nestled in the heart of the vibrant city of Auburndale, Florida, Camp Margaritaville is a hidden gem for RV enthusiasts seeking a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. Located at 361 Denton Ave, Auburndale, FL 33823, this RV resort provides a welcoming atmosphere that captures the essence of the Sunshine State and of course….Jimmy Buffett. I recently enjoyed a multi-week stay  there while filming RV Unplugged.   Let me share my experience and why Camp Margaritaville Auburndale has become one of my favorite RV destinations with my Little Guy Micro Max!

Why I Love This Campground

Camp Margaritaville Auburndale is more than just a campground; it’s a tropical paradise for RV’ers. The resort’s proximity to world-famous theme parks in Orlando and the stunning Gulf Coast beaches makes it an ideal location for those seeking a variety of experiences. What sets it apart, however, is the unique combination of relaxation and entertainment.

Camp Margaritaville offers a plethora of activities to suit various interests. I enjoyed riding my e-bike around the expansive grounds and on the nearby bike trail.  I also enjoyed exploring the resort’s different pools, including one with a 147-ft water slide and the Jolly Mon kids pool which is fun for all ages.  In fact, I never saw any kids in it!

I had many mango margaritas at the various on-site bars while listening to live music or watching people enjoy themselves in the Parrot Island Mini Golf course.  The staff is not only friendly, but does a great job of having tons of activities, like trivia night, on the schedule.

There is currently only one pickleball court but there are plans to add many more which is a promising addition for sports enthusiasts. As a dog lover, I appreciated the multitude of fenced-in dog parks with a few having convenient washing stations.  I also loved the park’s strategic location, just 30 minutes from Orlando, which allowed me to indulge in shopping at outlet malls and a play day at Universal Studios Theme Park.

The Best Sites

While I shared a basic full hook-up site with a fellow Girl Camper, it would have been great to have been at one of Camp Margaritaville’s premium Motorhome RV Suites.  While on the pricier side, they are worth every penny. They overlook the picturesque Lake Myrtle,  boast a private Tiki Hut equipped with a grill, outdoor TV, two Adirondack chairs, a hammock, and more. The spaciousness easily accommodates even the largest RVs (and my Micro Max lol), and the convenience of being close to the License To Chill bar and pool adds an extra layer of luxury to the stay.

However, all sites have charcoal grills, picnic tables, and what I call a “turf pad” which many campers set up their dog fences around.  The sites are level and spacious.  Camp Margaritaville also offers nice bathhouses, laundry facilities and the Fins Up Fitness Center.
