How to Spice Up Your Hot Chocolate

All of this crazy winter weather is making us crave one thing in particular…hot chocolate! Although the classic winter beverage is most often known for its rich chocolaty taste, below we’ve provided some different hot chocolate recipes that are delicious and different!

Peppermint

Somewhat similar to the original hot chocolate recipe, this peppermint take on the classic will be a big hit for anyone who loves the mint/chocolate combination.  You will need:

1 cup whole milk

½ cup chocolate chips

1 teaspoon peppermint extract

Orange

Although this flavor combination seems a little off-kilter, orange and chocolate complement each other very nicely. To make this recipe, you will need:

1 cup milk

½ tablespoon sugar

½ tablespoon grated orange zest

2 ounces dark chocolate

Vegan

Individuals who don’t practice veganism might not know that vegans do not eat any animal products, which includes dairy. Vegan or not, the following hot chocolate recipe is sure to satisfy!

1 cup vanilla almond milk

1 ½ unsweetened cocoa powder

2 teaspoons coconut palm sugar

Aztec

If you want to warm up quick, then this is the perfect option for your hot chocolate. Just make sure not to go too heavy on the cayenne! Follow the recipe below:
