DIY: Holiday Decorations

Just because you are on the road this holiday season doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the festivities. Deck the halls or your teardrop with these festive decorations.

Ornament Wreath

You know all those wire dry cleaning hangers you have lying around? Well this is a chance to re-purpose some of those hangers.

The list:

  • one wire hanger

  • about 80 ornaments (different sizes)

  • hot glue gun

  • ribbon

Start by bending the wire hanger into a circle. Take the hot glue gun and secure the metal cap to the ornament so they don’t become detached. Untwist the top of hanger and string the ornaments onto the hanger. Twist the top of the hanger back together and tie a ribbon to the top to hide the hook. Use the hook to hang your wreath on the door of your Little Guy and fa la la la.

Star of David

If Christmas isn’t your thing, here is a DIY to ring in Hanukkah. The best part is this craft gives you an excuse to go camping.

The list:

  • six twigs

  • hot glue gun

  • silver spray paint

  • twine

Make the shape of the Star of David out of the twigs, using the glue gun, glue the sticks together. When the glue dries, spray paint the Star of David and let it dry. Use the twine to hang your beautiful decoration on your Little Guy.

Commemorative Ornament

This can double as a gift or decoration and is a great way to look back on the year.

The list:

  • round ornament

  • gold (or any color) permanent marker

  • optional lettering stickers

Using the permanent marker write everything you did this year on the ornament. List the trips you took, life achievements, etc.

We can’t wait to see which craft you choose to make. Post photos of the finished product in the comments below.
